Publications Subcommittee
A subset of the Steering Committee with 1 member from each center. Subcommittee goals are proper usage of data across publications, ensure appropriate credit given and coordinate the publications process as needed. The subcommittee will review and discuss proposed consortium-wide concepts for papers and may also propose ideas for papers and presentations.
Work Groups
Work groups are formed to explore concepts or aspects of the research that influence the conduct of the implementation or analysis of the results. Work groups are usually temporary and directed towards completion of specific goals as documented in the work group charter. Members are volunteers from each research project, the coordinating center and NCI. Patients, caregivers and other persons involved in cancer treatment may also be members of work groups as needed. Three IMPACT work groups were established at the outset and are described below.
The Common Data Elements (CDE) Work Group will identify domains, variables and measurements proposed for collection across projects to determine where common data exists and what harmonization is needed for combined analysis. The work group will determine measurement scoring, data standards and cross-walks across measures of common domains within patient-reported outcomes (PROs), patient demographics and characteristics (e.g., social determinants of health), patient clinical data, healthcare utilization, and provider characteristics. CDEs regarding implementation research (e.g., satisfaction with the intervention) will be determined by the Implementation Science Work Group. The CDE Work Group will explore research questions that will utilize pooled datasets for analyses across the three projects.
The Clinical Informatics Work Group will gather and review patient facing clinical support materials, provider clinical decision support materials, and the algorithms that drive clinical decision-making across projects. The group will explore how clinical decisions are made in each project, including data points within systems that trigger a clinical response, notifications, engagement with the intervention, and tracking of all responses in the EHR. A matrix of triggers, data source, measurement levels, notifications, evidence-based clinical response, source of guidance for response, and tracking of treatment delivery will be created.
The Implementation Science (IS) Work Group will explore opportunities to synergize across the three projects the implementation science characteristics such as the frameworks, models, and theories; specification of implementation strategies; measurement methods; reporting standards; outcomes; and coding of adaptations to interventions. Members will identify and explore research and methods questions that will use common data for robust combined analyses of implementation science outcomes and processes.
